An ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) skills session is a hands-on training session typically offered to healthcare professionals who have completed the ACLS online course or have prior knowledge of ACLS algorithms. During this session, participants practice and demonstrate critical life-saving skills in a controlled environment. Key components of an ACLS skills session include: Scenario-Based Learning: Participants engage in realistic, scenario-based simulations that mimic emergency situations. These scenarios involve cardiac arrest, stroke, and other cardiovascular emergencies. Hands-On Practice: Participants practice essential skills such as high-quality CPR, using an automated external defibrillator (AED), administering advanced airway management, and interpreting ECG rhythms. Team Dynamics: Participants work as part of a team, often taking on different roles like team leader or compressor, to simulate the coordination and communication required in real-life emergencies. Skill Verification: Instructors evaluate participants' skills and ensure they can effectively apply ACLS algorithms and protocols. This includes assessing the patient, providing appropriate interventions, and making critical decisions. Feedback and Correction: Instructors provide feedback and guidance to help participants improve their technique and decision-making abilities. Written Exam: Some ACLS skills sessions include a written exam to assess participants' understanding of the course material.
